Chris Evans Joins ‘Captain America’ Casting Pool, John Krasinski Out Of The Running?
Mar 14 2010

Not so fast, John Krasinski. Reports that “The Office” star is a step removed from wielding the shield in “The First Avenger: Captain America” might not be accurate after all.

According to both The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline Hollywood, not only is Krasinski not a lock to play Steve Rogers in “Captain America,” the actor is out of the running altogether. In fact, according to these sources, the entire initial list of rumored candidates, including “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford, is off the table with the exception of Mike Vogel.

The new frontrunners include Vogel, “Tron Legacy” star Garrett Hedlund, “Generation Kill” actor Wilson Bethel and Chris Evans of “The Losers” and “Fantastic Four.”

Evans has apparently read for the part of Rogers and has a test offer from Marvel Studios. Hedlund has not tested yet but Marvel is apparently “very keen on him.” He is the star of Disney’s “Tron Legacy,” and given the film’s strong buzz and the company’s newfound ownership over Marvel, perhaps Hedlund has an inside leg up on the competition.

It’s somewhat difficult to fully accept the new list of frontrunners, and not because of any particular grievances against the actors. But the revolving door of “Captain America” casting rumors is moving at such a breakneck pace, causing the landscape to change on a virtually daily basis. Will the role go to Krasinski? Perhaps it’s Evans’ to lose, instead? For now, who knows — the film is set to start production in June, and assuming things are still on track, we’ll at least having a casting announcement before then.

We hope so, at least.  [Source]

Anna Faris and Chris Evans are set to take a trip down memory lane in New Regency’s R-rated laffer “What’s Your Number?”

Director Mark Mylod will lens in May. Regency partner 20th Century Fox will distribute. Mylod’s credits include HBO series “Entourage.”

“Number” revolves around a young woman who, with the aid of her womanizing next door neighbor, decides to re-visit all her ex-boyfriends in the hopes of finding the man of her dreams.

Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson are producing. Their previous credits include “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “The Guardian.” They’re in post on “Red Dawn.”

“What’s Your Number?” is based on Karyn Bosnak’s tome “20 Times a Lady.” Bosnak originally adapted the book for the bigscreen; her script was rewritten by Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan.  Read full article.

SECRET IDENTITY: Five Actors Who Could Play Hawkeye In Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ Movie
Dec 14 2009

Unless actor Jeremy Renner is getting his information from a parallel universe, it’s sounding likely that Hawkeye has a role in Marvel’s upcoming movie slate. Still, even Renner is quick to admit that while he’s discussed the role with Marvel, he’s not a lock for the part.

Assuming the role exists and is still available, it’s worth wondering what type of actor would be best-suited for Clint Barton. I don’t think the part requires an action hero body, though an athletic physique is a must. Barton also has to be equal parts charming and arrogant without sacrificing his heroic qualities — and he’s got to be awesome with a bow and arrow, but that’s where pre-production training comes in!

Keeping those prerequisites in mind, I think the following five actors would be right on the mark for Hawkeye.  Read full article.

Stone, Evans and Van Houten Get Satisfaction
Oct 8 2009

Sharon Stone recently revealed in Prestige magazine that she will start shooting Satisfaction in January 2010. To be directed by Anya Camilleri, the drama will co-star Chris Evans and Carice van Houten (Valkyrie).

According Stone, Satisfaction is “about a male prostitute in London who loses the older woman who’s been taking care of him, and the call-out agency he’s worked for is tired of his behavior and don’t want to send him out any more. He goes looking for someone else to take care of him and he keeps trying to come on to [my character]. You think they have legitimately fallen in love, by his behavior and her behavior – until the call-out service starts sending him out again while he’s with her. He starts trying to break her down. And it’s incredible what they do together: a very, very fascinating journey.”

The movie, written by Simon Burke, will film in London and Rome.  [Source]
